To quote Aussie TV and Radio Icons, Roy and HG, "too much sport is never enough".

Now for we addicts of the fifteen-man game this is equally true, for even during this glut of gladiatorial glory, three games a day is not enough.

But even more disturbing, is how to get really interested in a game between two teams you don't support. Each nation only has three pool matches before the finals start, and by then a few countries will be gone!

The solution being pushed by the Australian Rugby Union is to pick a second team to support.

For an Australian, most of whom came from Overseas anyway, this is easy. The Irish, the Scots and the Italians automatically pick up their own support crew from locals.

More creative options have been sought by some, The Mayoress of Launceston, host of Tasmania's only World Cup game has decreed that people born on Odd days shall support Romania and people born on even days will barrack for Namibia.

Now if you'll excuse me, I must learn the Romanian National Anthem... Wake up Romanian from your deadly slumber!
